MISSION:

To provide you personal, one on one, motivation to begin and/or maintain a happy and healthy running career.

To provide guidance in all aspects of running including scheduling, proper diet, stretching, distance, form, and other running essentials.

To help you discover the inherent joys in running in the outdoors, in all types of weather, through the wonderfully diverse neighborhoods of NYC.

To help you believe and realize your dream of running 1 mile, 26.2 miles, or anywhere in between (while enjoying every minute of it).

BEFORE WE RUN:

We will sit down and discuss your running past (if any), your future goals, and medical history.  I will share with you my expectations and basic rules of building a healthy running career.  You can ask any other questions or concerns you might have.

DURING OUR RUNS:

We will work on proper pace, form, and distance.  Most new runners either start out running too quickly or running too far and burn themselves out.  I believe in maintaining a safe yet encouraging running atmosphere.

AFTER OUR RUNS:

Together we will develop a running routine that fits into your personal schedule but also challenges you and helps you meet your individual running goals.  I will help educate you on all running essentials including proper nutrition, stretching, selecting an appropriate running shoe and more.  I can also suggest some inspirational running related literature, websites, and videos to help stimulate your running growth.

WHERE:

I reside in Brooklyn but will travel to meet you  for our runs.  We can run wherever you choose. Part of the joy of being a runner in NYC is exploring the city on foot.  I can also take you on some of my own personal favorite routes through the city (Ever run through Times Square at sunrise or Red Hook at dusk?).

WHEN:

I am available for early morning runs (I'll call you and wake you up if you need it), throughout the day (I'll meet you on your lunch break) and evening runs (have you ever run the Brooklyn Bridge late at night when there's no one on it?)

"It's very hard in the beginning to understand that the whole idea is not to beat the other runners. Eventually you learn that the competition is against the little voice inside you that wants you to quit."
